■Several Penacook organizations are participating in NH Gives on June 8 and 9. NH Gives is a statewide 24-hour online fundraising event designed to connect donors to local nonprofits. You can visit for more information.


WEST SIDERegional book fair

■The Northern New England Bookfair will be holding an event today at the Everett Arena from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The antique book and paper fair is for book buyers and sellers.The cost for admission is $5. For more information, call 801-7176.

■Wednesday is the last night to audition for the Tandy’s Idol Competition. Go and show what you’ve got from 8 and 11 p.m. This Karaoke singing competition is open to anyone 15 years or older by audition date. Any minor under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian the entire time while in Tandy’s. Your song choice must be given to DJ Ken by 10 p.m. Call backs will be June 30, 8 p.m. to completion. ■The Franklin Pierce Manse, 14 Horseshoe Pond Lane, home of the 14th President of the United States is now open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or by appointment by calling 224-2939. ■You still have time to order the June 13 Greek Dinner to Go from Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 68 N. State St., with pick up from noon to 1 p.m. This month is a special offering for the celebration of the Parish’s Name Day (Pentecost Sunday) is a gyro sandwich with fries and a Greek salad for $15 per meal. ■Reserve your spot now as space is limited at the Pope Memorial SPCA low cost vaccinations on June 19 from 10 a.m. to noon. Online form must be completed and sent in before appointment. Bring your cats, dogs and ferrets for rabies vaccination ($20), microchip ($25), kennel cough vaccine ($15), and distemper vaccine ($15). Proof of past rabies vaccination to determine one or three year vaccine. Cats must be safely in carrier and dogs on leash. Payment is due at time of online registration. Follow COVID-19 protocol.
