The Buntin-Rumford-Webster Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution had a great turnout at the state Good Citizens luncheon March 9. The luncheon recognizes Good Citizens chosen from high schools throughout the state. A student is chosen to represent New Hampshire for the National Good Citizen award in Washington, D.C.
The DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest, created in 1934, is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. This award recognizes and rewards individuals who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities.
BRW Good Citizens for 2018 are Tucker Wolfe from Pittsfield, who was able to attend, and Reilley Donovan from Bishop Brady High; Emma Roberge from Bow High; Dara McWeeney from Concord High; Jillian Wood from Franklin High; Ryan Heath from Merrimack Valley; and Emily Forde from Pembroke Academy, who were not able to attend.
The statewide winner was Cameron Twarog from Keene High School and he will move on to the Northeast division. McWeeney was the runner-up.
