The finalist for SAU 53’s co-superintendent serving the towns of Allenstown, Chichester and Epsom was introduced to residents at a meet and greet event Wednesday.

Jack Finley, the principal of the Hanover Street School in Lebanon, emerged as the finalist for SAU53’s superintendent position to replace current Superintendent Peter Warburton, who will retire at the end of the school year. SAU 53 has two co-superintendents: one covers Allenstown, Chichester and Epsom and the other, Superintendent Patty Sherman, covers Pembroke and Deerfield.

“I would like to thank the members of SAU 53 for this opportunity to meet with students, staff, parents, and community members,” Finley wrote in a letter to the community. “I am excited about the possible opportunity to continue the thriving spirit of the Allenstown, Chichester, and Epsom communities.”

In addition to being the principal in Lebanon, Finley is also a call firefighter for the city of Franklin. Before Lebanon, Finley taught English in the Franklin School District and served as the Emergency Operations Director.

Finley holds superintendent and curriculum director certifications, as well as certifications in School Emergency Management and Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership, and is currently completing his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Plymouth State University.

The full SAU Board will meet to consider Finley’s candidacy on Wednesday, March 8.
