Letter: Why the voters re-elected Sununu

During the 2020 campaign season, the Democrats made a big deal out of the number of vetoes by Gov. Chris Sununu. On Nov. 3, the voters sent a strong message they support Sununu and his vetoes. How did this happen? I have a few ideas.

First, we the voters do no support the Democrats’ paid family and medical leave income tax. You can wordsmith it all you want, but if the employer doesn’t cough up the money it taxes a worker’s income. Second, we the voters do not support anti-gunowner legislation. New Hampshire has a proud tradition of responsible gun ownership and we do not need the Democrats infringing on the Second Amendment. Third, we the voters do not support a small-business-killing $15 minimum wage. The voters have spoken and we can now look forward to two years of fiscally responsible state government.
