BOSCAWENBudget meeting

■It’s budget time for the Town of Boscawen. A Public Meeting on the proposed 2023 Budget will be held on Thursday after 6 p.m. It will be held at the Municipal Office Building at 116 N. Main St., in the fourth-floor meeting room. If event attendance exceeds the capacity of the meeting room, there will be overflow seating on the third floor at the Boscawen Public Library. The public has the option to listen to the meeting via Go-To-Meeting. No public comment can be taken through the Go-To-Meeting. To listen to the meeting, log onto https://meet.goto.com/516819005. CANTERBURYCommunity walk

■Join in a free Community Winter Wonderland Walk, hosted by CUCC, on Jan. 21 at 1:30 p.m. Led by an experienced nature educator, we will hike out to Meadow Pond and discover who lives in “our backyard.”

■Elkins Public Library will be closed from Jan. 16 to 23 for inventory and interior changes. Highlights include a new teen section, new adult fiction area, improved work areas and a new art display space. The staff has been working towards this re-design for months and it’s time for us to close the doors, change into our jeans and get it done.

■The next Board of Elkins Public Library Board of Trustees is on Jan. 23 at 6 p.m.

■The library’s next Sweet Grass meeting is on Jan. 26 at 5:30 p.m. Meetings are on the third Thursday each month in the Meeting Room.

■Evening Book Group at the library on Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. We will be discussing the book The Light of Luna Park by Addison Armstrong. Copies are available at the Circulation Desk.

■Murder, Mayhem and Misadventure will meet on Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. We will start the year off with a discussion of the latest books we have read and profiling an older author and a newer one, also we will lay out what’s coming up in the next few months. Please put us on your calendar and come see what we are all about – it’s quite a mystery.

■Pursuant to RSA 32, the Salisbury Budget Committee will hold a public hearing on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m., upstairs at Academy Hall, 9 Old Coach Rd., to receive public comment on the proposed 2023 Salisbury Town Budget. A work session at 6:30 p.m. will precede the hearing. All those interested are urged to attend. If you need assistance please contact the Selectmen’s Office at (603) 648-6320. In case of inclement weather, snow date will be on Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.

■The Town of Salisbury is seeking a Municipal Assistant to work in the Town Offices and be responsible for a variety of secretarial/administrative duties, and assist with the daily functions of the Selectmen’s Office. Please submit a letter of interest and resume to Town of Salisbury, P.O. Box 214, Salisbury, N.H. 03268. The position will remain open until filled. ■The Town Clerk’s office is closed until a replacement is appointed and trained. Residents are encouraged to use the online service for renewals through: Webster-nh.gov or by mailing Webster Town Clerk, 945 Battle St., Webster, NH, 03303. Effective on Jan. 9, residents needing transfers of vehicle registrations, new vehicles or to obtain a new title residents may go to Michele Courser, the Warner Town Clerk. Please be sure to have old registrations, vehicle information and a photo ID with you. The Warner Town Clerk is located at 5 E. Main St., Warner, NH, 02378. Marriage licenses and certified copies of vital records such as birth or death certificates, can be obtained at any town clerk’s office. Dog licenses can be renewed online. ■The filing period for elected town officials is from Jan. 25 to Feb. 3. Positions on the ballot will be: Selectman (three years); Supervisor of the Checklist (three years); Tax Collector (three years); Town Clerk (three years); Treasurer (three years), Trustee of Trust Funds (three years); Cemetery Trustee (three years); Library Trustee (one year), and Library Trustee (three years).

■The Free Friday Film will be House of Gucci (2021) on Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. in the meeting hall of the library. Comfy chairs and snacks are included in the free price!

■A Deputy Tax Collector is needed for the Town of Webster. The hours will vary with most hours happening during tax season when the deputy would prepare deposits. There would be training in liening and deeding procedures. The collector will work approximately 100 hours in 2023 at $25 an hour. Bank teller experience is preferred but not necessary.
