■Boscawen homeowners, the public hearing on Thursday, after 6 p.m., is your opportunity to get information on and ask questions on the proposed 2023 Budget. The hearing will be held at the Municipal Office Building, fourth floor meeting room, 116 N. Main St. In the event that attendance exceeds the capacity of the meeting room, there will be overflow seating on the third floor at the Boscawen Public Library. The public has the option to listen to the hearing via Go-To-Meeting. For more information, visit the town’s website at townofboscawen.gov, and click on the public hearing option.

■Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Friday to Boscawen’s High Street Coffee House, held in the Boscawen Congregational Church sanctuary. Music starts at 7 p.m. with featured performer, Joey Clark, songwriter, who is a New Hampshire native and has produced two albums of original music. The Coffee House is an “Open Mic” venue, welcoming musicians, poets and comedians to take the stage for two songs or ten minutes. Sign up in advance to get priority by emailing Liz at HighStreetCoffeeHouse@gmail.com. Admission is always free though a donation basket is passed. ■Feeling housebound? Head to the Boscawen Public Library to relax in the cozy atmosphere and look through the great collection of fiction and non-fiction books for all ages. Research your ancestry for free on their computers. The kids will love playing with the toys in the area made just for them. There are also DVD’s and audio books. Pre-school children are welcome to come to Storytime at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday for music, stories and crafts. Yoga classes are held on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. Bone Builders on Monday and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m., and crafters gather on Mondays at 2 p.m. to work on their projects.

SALISBURYPublic hearing

■The Town Clerk will be open on Feb. 3 from 3 to 5 p.m. to accept applications for filing for office only. No other duties such as vehicle registrations will be done at this special opening. ■The Salisbury Budget Committee will hold a public hearing on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m., upstairs at Academy Hall, 9 Old Coach Rd., to receive public comment on the proposed 2023 Salisbury Town Budget. A work session at 6:30 p.m. shall precede this public hearing. All those interested are urged to attend. If you need assistance please contact the Selectmen’s Office at (603) 648-6320. In case of inclement weather, the snow date will be on Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.

■The Town of Salisbury is seeking a Municipal Assistant to work in the Town Offices and be responsible for a variety of secretarial/administrative duties, and assist with the daily functions of the Selectmen’s Office. The successful applicant will be skilled in the use of computers and modern office equipment; be able to work independently. Salary DOQ. WEBSTERPublic hearing 

■There will be an Energy Committee meeting and work session on Jan. 31 at 6:30 p.m. in the Grange Hall at the Town Hall.

■The Webster Energy Committee will hold another Public Hearing on the Webster Community Power Electric Aggregation Plan at 7 p.m. on Jan. 31 in the Grange Hall at the Town Hall. 

■A reminder that the filing period for elected town officials ends on Feb. 3.

■The Webster Food Pantry is a volunteer organization that provides free food to residents. It is open on the first Wednesday of every month from 6 to 8 p.m. or anytime by appointment by calling Peg at (603) 568-2526. The Food Pantry is located in the Parish House at the First Congregational Church at 1011 Long St.

■Per the Town’s Winter Maintenance Policy parked cars are prohibited in the right of way until April 1.

■Please remember to shovel around your mailbox and your newspaper tube to help the delivery people. The USPS vehicles are rear wheel, which means they are difficult to maneuver in our winter conditions.

■The Webster Historical Society is organizing the third Annual Silent Auction. This is our biggest fundraiser. Every dime is spent to maintain the Old Meeting House, Horse Shed, Hy-Mar Museum, and to keep the heat and lights on for the Society. We need donations for the auction: gift certificates, merchandise, services, anything that can be sold. These can be your donation, or from your favorite place of business, who will also enjoy free advertising. Cash donations are also very much appreciated. The auction will go live from March 4 to 18. All items need to be collected before Feb. 1 for time to take photos and upload them to the auction website.
