BOSCAWENPublic skating

■The Public Skating Rink, on the Municipal Office field, is open from sunrise to 9 p.m. with lighting and benches soon to be added. Have fun catching up with your neighbors while getting exercise. The rink was made possible through the generosity of volunteers and supply donors.

■Horace Chase Lodge at 53 N. Main St. holds a free coffee social every Monday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. In addition to coffee, the gathering includes communication and games. The Masons and the Priscilla Chapter #51 N.H. Order of the Eastern Star are eager to get to know more people in the community.

■On Feb. 18, the Grace Sovereign Fellowship Church holds a soup kitchen starting at 4:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. They are located at 235 High St.

■Youth in Grades 6 to 12 are invited to meet each Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m. for the Youth Group at the Grace Sovereign Fellowship Church. An Adult Bible Study session meets at 7 p.m. each Wednesday online. The link to join the meeting is meet.goggle.com/fgx-znrp-whk.

■The Boscawen Public Library welcomes you to come in to relax in their cozy atmosphere, check out their collection of books, use their computers and research Ancestry.com for free. Storytime for preschool children is held every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for stories, music and crafts. Yoga classes are held every Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. Bone Builders meets on Monday and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. Crafters meet every Monday beginning at 2 p.m.

■Winter is a challenging time for folks facing food insecurity Hilda’s Food Pantry at the Boscawen Congregational Church is available to Boscawen residents and is open on Mondays from 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. They rely on steady donations of food, hygiene and monetary gifts. Donations can be dropped off during their open hours or when the church is open. Donate online at www.boscawencongregationalchurch.com/food-pantry.html. Donations can be mailed to Boscawen Congregational Church Food Pantry, 12 High St.

CANTERBURYEnergy survey results

■The Canterbury Community Power Committee (CCPC) has added two important documents to our page on the town website. The FAQ’s presented over the past few months have been consolidated into one document for easy review. The complete results of the town-wide energy survey conducted in December 2022 have also been posted for residents to review. Visit the CCPC page on the town website to also view Canterbury’s Electric Aggregation Plan, public hearing slide presentation, meeting agendas and minutes, plus other community power information (www.canterbury-nh.org/canterbury-community-power-committee).

■On Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. to noon, join the library for a drop-in Lego time; there will be a table of Duplos for our younger patrons.

■Movie Day at the library on March 2 at 2 p.m., we’ll be showing The Bad Guys (PG). Popcorn will be provided.

■Free tech help at the library on Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m., in half-hour time slots, Katie McKay offers free tech support at the library. Please schedule an appointment and give a brief description of the nature of the issue.

■“Wild Backyard Medicinal Herbs” on Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. in the Town Hall with Maria Noël Groves, RH (AHG), Clinical Herbalist and best-selling author. Interested in medicinal, healing, and edible herbs? Chances are, you already have an apothecary growing wild in your yard or garden! In this class, Maria will share some basics on herbs and then dive into several of her favorites, with an emphasis on common wild plants including stinging nettle, violet, elderberry, yarrow, yellow dock, dandelion, and burdock, which can support our health on many levels including immune, detoxification, nutrition, vitality, digestion, and more. WEBSTERPublic Hearing

■We expect to appoint a new Town Clerk at the next Select Board Meeting on Feb. 6.

■The Select Board will be holding a Public Hearing on Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Grange Hall at Town Hall. The purpose of the hearing is to present the 2023 draft budget and warrant.

■The Conservation Commission meeting will be held on Feb. 8 at 4 p.m. in the Webster Town Hall.

■Notice is hereby given in accordance with RSA 676:4 & 657:7 The Webster Planning Board will hold a public hearing for the 2-lot subdivision application submitted by SPE #228 LLC for 874 Battle Street, Webster, NH; Tax Map 5 Lot 13, on Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. The hearing will be held in the Grange Hall at Webster Town Hall, 945 Battle St. Should a decision not be reached at the public hearing, this application will stay on the Planning Board agenda until such time as it is either approved or disapproved.
