OUR ENVIRONMENT NEEDS MORE LOCAL REPORTING

The Concord Monitor is launching its Environmental Reporting Lab, a long-term effort to better inform the community about the New Hampshire environment. To launch phase 1 of this effort, we need your help. The money raised will go toward hiring a full-time environmental reporter.

Please consider donating to this effort.

SPONSORED: Support animals in need with The Trainer’s Loft’s Giving Tree

Published: 11/24/2021 3:29:41 PM

COVID-19 has hit all non-profit organizations especially hard these past 20+ months. And organizations that support the needs of animals are no different, making it difficult for them to have the funds, supplies, and equipment they require to meet the needs of our equine community.

The Trainer’s Loft has committed to making a difference for these organizations this holiday season. Visit our tack store and purchase an ornament off of the Giving Tree starting at just $1 and we’ll commit that donation to do our part. We’re hoping to exceed last year’s total of $1,500 to help fund two very worthwhile organizations. Check out our sliding scale in-store to track our progress and hopefully smash our goal. We thank you for helping us make a difference for the animals and those who care for them.

Please help us help the helpers! This year our giving tree will focus on two special non-profit organizations: Becky’s Gift and Upreach Therapeutic Riding Center, both 501c3 organizations that benefit animals and people in various ways. They provide joy, peace, and possibility to the lives within their care.

Becky’s Gift was established to provide short term assistance to horse owners. When horse owners experience difficulties in their lives, care for their horses can become a terrible burden. Their intervention is to provide temporary relief so that the horses can be kept in good health while the owners get back on their feet. Named for an avid horse person, Becky grew up in Bow showing horses from age eleven. She and Daisy showed all over NH, most frequently at Deerfield Fairgrounds, and were named champion many times. Sadly, both Becky and Daisy passed away in 2005, Daisy in April and Becky tragically in September. Becky’s Gift was founded to commemorate their bond, and establish her legacy. The foundation enables horse owners with short-term financial troubles to keep their animals by helping to fund hay, veterinarian bills, and farrier bills.

Upreach Therapeutic Riding Center is dedicated to inspiring hope, fostering independence, and improving the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of individuals with and without disabilities by partnering with the power of a horse.

For over 28 years, UpReach has been delivering excellence in programming with the very best staff, horses, and volunteers. Founded in 1992, therapeutic riding lessons began with 2 participants, a few volunteers, and one borrowed horse, and now offers support from 14 horses and ponies, along with Minnie and Tiger Lily the barn cats.

UpReach Therapeutic Equestrian Center is grateful to The Trainer’s Loft for all their support! Donations made from their ornament sales will help improve lives with the power of the horse. Thanks to community partners like The Trainers Loft, over 500 individuals were able to participate in UpReach programs last year.

Both of these organizations are worthy recipients and we’re proud to support their cause. So please visit us soon for your custom ornament and help us help them in the true spirit of the holidays.
