The Henniker American Legion Post 78 will be hosting the 2nd Annual Disposal of Unserviceable Flags Ceremony on June 14 (Flag Day) at the Henniker Community Park, Main Street, (Angelia Robinson Bandstand) at 7 p.m.

Residents may bring their faded, tattered and worn flags to the ceremony for proper public disposal or drop them off at the Henniker Town Hall, Depot Street, Henniker or to the Town Transfer Station until June 13.

This ceremony is a dignified tribute to the U.S. flag and its’ symbolism. The Post through this public display enhances respect to the flag in our community and provides a much-needed service to those who have flags needing to be properly retired. The flags that have graced the graves of Henniker veterans buried in town cemeteries for the past year will also be retired during this ceremony.
