■Chili/Chowder/Mac & Cheese Cookoff at Compass Academy Saturday, 15 Elkins St., on March 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. The cost is $5 at the door. Try every dish and vote on your favorites. The event is to raise funds for the new school playground.

■Annual Franklin Mayor’s Drug Task Force dinner at Mojalaki’s Country Club is ready for RSVPs for their March 24 event. The semi-formal event includes a choice between three entrees, cash bar, dinner, auction and raffles, community awards, music and dancing, and a photo booth. The cost $45 per person. ■Visiting Angels representative, Tracie Elder, will be at the TRIP Center (Bessie Rowell Community Building) on March 14 at 11 a.m. to talk about all the resources available to seniors in our area. This event is open to the public.

■St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon at the TRIP Center on March 17. Gather at 10:30 a.m. and enjoy live music with David Jenne with lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wear some green to celebrate the day. All are welcome. Call (603) 934-4151 with any questions.
