Concord Hospital and New England College (NEC) held a special reception to welcome the first cohort of students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The accelerated program combines classroom instruction along with nine months of clinical training. The group of 26 students will receive on the job training working as licensed nursing assistants (LNA) and learning with a preceptor in the nursing student role throughout all clinical settings in the Concord Hospital health system.

The New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association (NHTOA) held its annual meeting on June 3 at Star Lake Farm in Springfield. Each year part of the program includes recognizing noteworthy timberland owners and members of the forest products community. This year’s Outstanding Logger Award went to Jake and Alyson Bronnenberg of Jake Bronnenberg Forest Services of Loudon.

New Hampshire Lottery Commissioner H. Andy Crews was recently re-nominated by Governor Chris Sununu and confirmed by the Executive Council for a second three-year term on the Commission. Crews, whose term runs through 2026, was first appointed to the New Hampshire Lottery Commission in 2020. The Executive Council confirmed Crews on Wednesday, May 31.

Tiffany Eddy has been appointed to the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH) Board of Trustees. Eddy was nominated by Governor Sununu and approved by the NH Executive Council for an initial three-year term through June 30, 2026, representing the public sector.

The Capital Region Food Program (CRFP) distributed over 275 cases of nonperishable food items to 14 area social service agencies, food pantries and churches as part of the program’s Year Round Distribution Project (YRDP) on June 13.
