Missing man parked by Everett Arena in Concord found dead in Merrimack River

A 12-hour search for a missing Concord man ended in tragedy when his body was pulled from the Merrimack River on Thursday morning.
The man, whose name is being held while next of kin are notified, was first reported missing to the Concord Police Department at 7:25 p.m. on Wednesday.
Four hours later at 11:30 p.m., his vehicle was found in the parking lot of Everett Arena off Loudon Road and search efforts commenced with the assistance of the Concord Fire Department. The search was focused on the Merrimack River and temporarily suspended at 1 a.m. while the search on land continued throughout the night.
With the help of the New Hampshire Fish & Game Dive Team, search efforts resumed at 8 a.m. By 8:45 a.m., the male was located by the dive team at the bottom of the river and pronounced dead by Concord Fire personnel.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine the manner and cause of death. Foul play is not expected.
