Boys’ Basketball

Concord Christian 50, Mascenic 38

Key players: Concord Christian – Logan Duffy (11 points), TJ Charbono (10 points), Isaac Bowers (8 points); Mascenic – Lucas Leroux (18 points)

Highlights: The Kingsmen led 24-22 at halftime, but Duffy score nine of his 11 points in the third quarter as CCA took a 41-31 lead into the final frame.

Highlights:  Eastman scored his 1,000th career point and the Pacers connected on 12 shots from 3-point land, while Franklin connected just three times beyond the arc.

Coach’s quote:  “Hinsdale played on Friday while this was our first game and you could tell the difference in the first quarter as we looked nervous. Those jitters led to some really sloppy play. We settled down after that and even had the deficit down to single digits in the fourth, but Hinsdale hit a barrage of 3s, while our shots from the outside were off to continuously keep the game just out of reach.” – Franklin’s Dave Bedard

Highlights:  The Panthers led 22-18 at halftime, but were outscored 31-13 by the Lakers in the second half to drop their season opener. Pittsfield plays at Franklin on Friday.

Girls’ Basketball

Hinsdale 40, Franklin 33

Key players: Franklin – Lily Cornell (16 points), Kourtney Kaplan (8 points), Sage Slocum (8 points)

Highlights:  The Tornadoes led at halftime, but ran into foul trouble in the fourth quarter.

Coach’s quote:  “The girls played really well in their first game and kept the intensity up all game. We have to stay composed at the end of the game and out of foul trouble to finish strong.” – Franklin’s Mark Dionne

Pittsfield 39, Sunapee 32

Key players: Pittsfield – Ashley Clark (15 points, 4-for-8 3-point shooting), Addie Clark, Chelsee Chagnon

Highlights:  Ashley Clark was sharp from 3-point land as the Panthers picked up their first victory of the season on the road against the Lakers.
