Three Concord men facing assault and rioting charges following Depot Street attack

Three Concord men are being held without bail at the Merrimack County House of Corrections after they were arrested Thursday in connection with an assault on Depot Street in August.

Concord police responded to the area of Depot Street around 1 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, for reports of a disturbance, according to a news release. Upon arrival, police found an unconscious female victim on the ground that was being tended to by a male.

Following an investigation, police say the incident originated from WOW Billiards on North Main Street when the three men – Matayo Riley, 26; Evan Bailey, 21; and Sincere Thomas, 24 – gathered and chased three victims, including the injured woman, to Depot Street where they attacked and violently assaulted the victims.

The three victims were transported to Concord Hospital for serious injuries.

Riley was charged with riot and robbery, felonies, and disorderly conduct and breach of bail, misdemeanors; Bailey was charged with riot and second degree assault, felonies, and disorderly conduct, reckless conduct and simple assault, misdemeanors; Thomas is being charged with riot and robbery, felonies, and simple assault, disorderly conduct, criminal threatening, and two counts of receiving stolen property, misdemeanors.

The trio was arraigned on Friday at Merrimack County Superior Court. 

The investigation remains active and the Concord Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact Detective Steven Concord at 603-225-3100.
