  • Nikki Rivers of Penacook took her late lunch hour to look at some of the dogs at the Pope Memorial SPCA on Thursday and found "Smitty," a beagle mix. Rivers saw him online but it was love at first sight when she and co-worker came and checked him out in person. Rivers was just waiting outside while her application papers were being processed. "Smitty" wanted to go home. The SPCA is celebrating "Less Adoptable" Pet Week through the 23rd. Check http://www.popememorialspca.org for details.
